Applying Knowledge in Pet Care and Retail Practices

The two-month course has enabled me to acquire knowledge in pet nutrition, including the functions of amino acids, vitamins, and similar elements. This knowledge has proven highly beneficial to my pet-owning lifestyle, allowing me to promptly identify the causes of my pets’ discomforts and determine appropriate foods and supplements that can assist them. For instance, during feeding periods, it helps identify the necessary nutrients for conditions such as urinary issues or eye inflammation.

Furthermore, it has also supported my work in pet retail. For example, when promoting pet health products, I can assess the customer’s pet condition, analyze each product, select the most suitable one for the customer, and explain the contained nutrients along with their benefits to the pet, thereby enhancing persuasiveness and boosting store sales.

In addition, during the classes, Lau Sir incorporated video-based instruction, question-and-answer sessions, and other elements, which added significant enjoyment to the lessons. Moreover, he utilized recent pet food news to enable students to absorb additional information. Furthermore, Lau Sir dedicated time outside of class to address students’ queries, demonstrating true dedication and effort, which has deeply impressed the students.

Finally, I am grateful to The Hong Kong Pet Nutrition Society for establishing this course, providing more Hong Kong residents with exposure to the pet nutrition industry, the opportunity to acquire relevant knowledge, enter this field, and assist more pets in need. In the present day, nearly every household keeps pets. It is essential to ensure that pets receive services from veterinarians and nutritionists, akin to those for humans, to prevent unexplained departures from this world. Ultimately, cats and dogs have integrated into the human world, and likewise for humans; we are all one family.
